Christ Dies No More

Ahn Sahng Hong died on February 25, 1985.  The World Mission Society Church of God claims that Ahn Sahng Hong was Jesus Christ, but what does Romans 6:9 say about that?

For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

Romans 6:9
Ahn Sahng Hong’s funeral.

Romans 6:9 says Christ “cannot die again“, but Ahn Sahng Hong died. (Note that Zahng Gil Jah, who the WMSCOG claims was Ahn Sahng Hong’s “spiritual wife” is not in the above photo). There you have it, evidence that Ahn Sahng Hong was not Jesus Christ.

Isn’t that part in roman 6 describing Christ dying to sin? I know He did die on the cross, as a sin offering. Meaning he cannot be crucified again. Besides it talks about the apostles being dead. If they are dead, how can they be preaching? This passage talks about being free from sin, by being alive in Christ, no? Please explain

Adam thank you for commenting. Your raise a good point but I’m afraid that you are missing an important part of the chapter. Christ died for our sins, not his because Christ is perfect. You are correct when you say that Jesus died on the cross, but the method by which he was put to death is not the focus of the message. Romans 6:9 “For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.” It clearly states that Christ will not die again, not just that he will not be crucified again. Romans 6:10 tells us that Christ died in order to pay for our sins “once for all”. Romans 6:9 tells us that Christ “cannot die again”. This contradicts the WMSCOG’s belief that Ahnsahnghong was “god” because he indeed suffered a physical death in 1985 and did not resurrect.
Yes he talks about the apostles being dead to sin. Romans 6:4 “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” There is some obvious use of figurative language here. In summary, as you said the passage talks about being dead to sin and alive in Christ. Here baptism is symbolic of dying to sin (or buried through baptism) and resurrection is symbolic of us living a new life in Christ under God’s grace (Romans 6:11, 14).

WMSCOG has two options with this verse…they either have to accept this passage as referring to Christ in the spiritual sense or physical sense. If I’m not mistaken, I believe they take the spiritual angle. So they have to swallow the whole verse from that angle yes? So either…

    1) Death does not have mastery over Christ in the physical sense which proves that Ahn Sahng-Hong couldn’t have died again. Or….

    2) If we take the spiritual approach, we’ll have to assume that death had mastery over Christ from a spiritual point of view.

There’s no in between. You can’t chop up the verse to fit your WMSCOG view.

Thank you for all this valuable information. Why are all these wms churches doing things like this? I have to get baptized the correct way now right? I just got baptized into this church on November 11th and I just got kicked out of the Denver branch because I punched some guy in the face during an awards ceremony. It wasn’t even in the church. How can I keep Passover now? How can I keep Sabbath day? Why do they pray in the name of somebody else and not Jesus? I feel betrayed.

If all the information you have provided me is true and most of it comes from ncpcog right? The wmscog claims you have to acknowledge God the mother in order to go to heaven. I don’t see that anywhere in the bible. They claim that any is second coming Christ but they don’t explain that to you right before baptism. They do keep the laws of the new covenant but they pray to a false god the mother. Man I thought this church meant well. How long has this website been about?
